For me, approaching a new project for a public space requires a total forgetfulness about any use of recurrent vocabulary, composition, material, discipline, medium or technique. Instead of importing in different locations a repetitive ‘savoir-faire’ which will be seen as a ‘style’, I always privilege a specific response, asking the site to tell about itself in the most direct way. Each of my public works will, as a consequence, look different from the others and only a close attention will reveal the strong connections existing between all of them.
